As we settle into the new term, this month we’re focusing on supporting your school’s continued growth. Explore the new Ofsted SEF, discover how to make the most of it in iP, and join our upcoming webinar on evidence-based strategies for wellbeing, workload, and retention. Let’s make this half term one of reflection, learning, and lasting positive change.
New OFSTED SEF: The updated Ofsted Report Card, introduced this November, places a stronger emphasis on evidencing impact, improvement, and intent. Our new iP form has been designed to align seamlessly with this framework - providing leaders with a clear, consistent structure for self-review and development planning. The new framework is now fully embedded across iP, ensuring your self-evaluation process remains up to date and effective.
Streamlined Settings Layout: We’ve consolidated settings across the system to make them easier to find and manage. You can now adjust settings for each area directly from a convenient sidebar, making navigation more intuitive. A new settings toggle bar will appear in SDP, SEF, Policies, and Audits, allowing you to access and update preferences quickly and efficiently.
The updated Ofsted framework has brought self-evaluation back into the spotlight, not as a static formality, but as a tool for ongoing school improvement. The new SEF template in SchooliP is designed to help schools move beyond a compliance exercise and create a living, actionable record of their priorities, progress, and impact.
Using the new SEF effectively starts with linking it to your School Development Plan (SDP). When the SEF reflects the live SDP, it becomes a true planning and monitoring tool rather than a retrospective document gathering dust on a shelf. Strengths, areas for development, and progress can be tracked in real time, allowing leaders to respond swiftly and strategically.
We’ve created a step-by-step guide to help you get started. Click here to see how you can link your SEF to your School Development Plan.
By connecting your SEF and SDP, you can ensure that evidence gathered through monitoring, appraisals, and professional development all feed directly into your school’s improvement narrative. This joined-up approach not only strengthens internal reflection but also gives inspectors a clear, consistent picture of impact across your school.
