In This Session

In this session, we will explore how a sustained focus on improving teaching quality became the driving force behind whole-school improvement. We will share how a research-informed teaching model was developed and embedded through a carefully structured implementation plan, supported by ongoing, responsive training for both staff and students. Attendees will gain insight into how consistent monitoring, evaluation, and refinement helped ensure the model was effectively adopted across classrooms, alongside the challenges of supporting staff with varying starting points, maintaining motivation, and securing accurate, consistent assessment of teaching quality.

We will also highlight the role of School IP in strengthening both teacher support and accountability. Through tools such as responsive coaching records, developmental drop-ins, and appraisal-linked objectives, the platform has enabled more precise feedback, clearer tracking of progress, and improved alignment with school improvement priorities. Reflecting on a gradual implementation journey, we will discuss how School IP has evolved from a simple appraisal tool into a valuable system for capturing professional development and teaching quality over time, while also identifying opportunities to further integrate strategic school improvement work in the future.
