As we move into the final term of the academic year, schools and colleges find themselves sifting through a mountain of data. Attendance trends, assessment outcomes, CPD engagement, safeguarding logs, and improvement plans all come into sharper focus as leaders prepare for final evaluations and forward planning.
This period can feel intense - but it is also one of the most powerful opportunities to reflect on impact, celebrate progress, and shape meaningful next steps for staff and learners.
iP is designed to make school improvement data more manageable - bringing everything together in one place so you can quickly identify patterns, evidence impact, and confidently prepare for the year ahead.
If you’d like support reviewing your setup or getting more from your system before the end of term, our team is here to help.
What an end-of-the-year system review can do:
Ensure your iP setup reflects your current school or college priorities
Prepare a cleaner, more structured system ready for the new academic year
Identify underused features that could save staff time or improve insight
Support a smoother, more focused experience for leaders and staff using the platform
Improve consistency in how teams record and use data across the organisation
As you begin to plan for the next academic year, the Impact to Evidence to Next Steps approach can help bring real clarity and focus to your decision-making.
Relevance check
Take a step back and review your data. If a measure hasn’t supported a decision or informed action this year, it may be worth reconsidering whether it continues to add value.
Focused professional development
Use year-end outcomes and achievement data to shape CPD priorities. This ensures staff development is directly aligned with the areas where it will have the greatest impact.
Clear ownership at every level
Make sure everyone can confidently access and use the system in a meaningful way. Staff should be able to view and manage their own impact evidence and portfolios, while middle leaders and department heads can easily review team performance and support ongoing development. Senior leaders should have a clear overview that supports strategic planning and improvement.
Reflection is what turns activity into progress. When you use this year’s evidence to shape next year’s priorities, you move beyond being busy - you start becoming more effective.
Join us over the coming weeks for a range of sessions focused on school improvement, quality assurance, and the changing educational landscape.

Tuesday 9 June
This session explores how schools and colleges can respond to the growing role of AI in education, with a focus on assessment, academic integrity, and supporting positive learning outcomes.
As the end of the academic year approaches, now is a good time to focus on small, practical steps that help bring clarity and control to your final term.
Review progress against your current improvement priorities
Ensure key evidence is up to date and easy to access
Check that CPD activity is clearly linked to identified development needs
Make sure staff are consistently recording impact and outcomes
Tidy dashboards so they reflect what matters most right now
Identify any gaps in data that may affect end-of-year reporting
Encourage middle leaders to review and validate team-level evidence
Confirm that reporting structures support governors and leadership conversations
Remove or archive any outdated processes that are no longer adding value
Focus on what will genuinely support reflection, evaluation, and planning
A strong finish to the year isn’t about doing more, it’s about making sure what you already have in place is working as effectively as possible.
This term we’ve released a range of updates designed to improve how you manage data, streamline key processes, and strengthen reporting across SchooliP.
Enhanced MIS Data & Department Management
You can now choose where job title data is imported from within your MIS connection and automatically archive departments no longer linked to staff. These updates help keep your system cleaner, more accurate, and easier to manage.
Improved Staff Reviews & Performance Reporting
Staff reviews can now be started directly from the Staff Management page, alongside new Standards Report filters for reviewer and reviewee ratings. This gives leaders clearer visibility of performance and development across teams.
CPD & Monitoring Enhancements
New CPD filters make it easier to identify unrated courses, while monitoring forms can now require Areas for Development before submission. These improvements support stronger quality assurance and more consistent evidence capture.
We know this stage of the academic year is both busy and important, and we hope these updates, resources, and reflections help support your planning and decision-making in the weeks ahead. If you would like guidance on making the most of your system, booking a review, or preparing for the new academic year, our team is always happy to help.
